Somebody sent this in an e-mail. This is kind of sad picture and I felt bad for the cat. When I was still in the Philippines, it's very common to see such scene in the streets. People never cared much about animals. My friend just lost their dog a week ago and was so disappointed when she was crying and telling her friends what happened. All her friends were not sympathetic at all and worse, they just laughed at her. I know, it's rude but perhaps with the cultural differences- I don't blame them. They definitely don't know what they're doing.

that is such a wicked sign.
Poor cat.
It is really true sha. Here they value their pet just like their family...one time my colleague went off sick because her cat was sick. Sa PH pa to basin gitanggal na sa trabaho.
kaluoy sad oi... sa ato kay ginakaon pa ang iring da! hahaha!
truly, cultures differ. it amazes me how people treat dogs and cats like their own siblings!
Oh boy - poor cat! That's a sad picture.
It's a sad truth that in PI, less people care about animals unlike US.
it's really sad that some doesn't care at all and left the poor cat than way.
i would say it might be the upbringing to have this type of consideration with animals.
Pets becomes a part of the family and I can understand why your friend was crying over the loss of her dog, if its been with you for years, the sudden loss would obviously affect you. I think its very wrong of people to laugh and to be unsympathetic, cultural differences has a big part, what other people value some just don't.
I'm sorry that you posted such a terrible picture. I don't think cruelty to animals or a lack of compassion for life can be explained as a cultural difference.
