Enjoy Being A Woman

It’s great to be a woman. With so many things that you can do, wear and become, there’s no better time to live. In big cities, everywhere you turn- everybody is wearing the appropriate style or fashion. People in all walks of life struggle to live up to the standards of their lifestyle. When you’re in the plane, all you get are these fashion magazines filled with beauty tips and secrets or if not how to make love the right way, ugh! Okay, that’s enough.

Wait a minute…how about these ladies? How would you justify the extravagance of being simple? With all our preconceived notion of fashion as well as the lifestyle that we are aware of- of course, we would say they are just but primitive people.

I don’t have any intention to embarrass Indonesians as this picture was taken in Bali 15 years ago. Somehow, I was so bewildered to the extent of their health issues not on the fashion that they have come to know of. Just imagine how these people walk an extra mile too many times a day hauling home gallons of water in a container or sack of rice in their heads. In steep, remote highlands where they live- getting something to eat is a daily challenge. Their whole life is all about having a good meal and water to drink.

This picture have so much to teach us. Everytime we complain, everytime we only think of ourselves, everytime we are overwhelmed with pain. I sometimes wonder why and how they do it.

What amazing pics you have. Really loved them. These were a very rare behaviours of our people. And you may have hundreds in there if you explore another subcultures and islands in our country. Mostly people come to Bali for pleassure. Watching our contemporary arts and cultures for their glory. But you're such special art work in your dalamhati. Thanks for these pics, I appreciated them this much. Yesterday my son told me, if I can open Mr. Jurgensen or some similar name in Flickr.com, so we can take a look some pics of Jakarta in 1972's. Maybe we can see such nipa at the bufferzones.

I loved seeing people's smile :) after all, life is so short, we all die in the end and everything won't matter at all!
